Mollie Weinstein Schaffer, 92, sits comfortably in a chair in her home
at The Park at Vernon Hills Retirement Community, her eyes and voice
filled with emotion as she looks at photos from her years serving in
World War II and talks about her experiences.
Schaffer joined the Women's Army Corps just months after it was
established in 1943 when she was 27 years old because it seemed like
everyone she knew was enlisting.
